Terapia pulpar vital en molar permanente joven con TheraBase. Reporte de un caso

La terapia pulpar vital (TPV) es una estrategia destinada a mantener la vitalidad total o parcial de la pulpa. Con respecto al recubrimiento pulpar indirecto, la remoción selectiva del tejido cariado y su posterior recubrimiento del tejido afectado son considerados como TPV. Entre las consideraciones a tomar en cuenta para la realización de este tipo de tratamiento se encuentran los hallazgos al examen clínico, pruebas de sensibilidad, evaluación radiográfica (periapical, interproximal) y material de selección a usar según el caso, cuya principal consideración es inducir bioactividad en el tejido afectado. Este reporte de caso evalúa el manejo de caries profunda en un diente permanente joven; paciente femenino de 11 años de edad que acude a consulta odontológica presentando dolor en zona posterior superior derecha de manera espontánea al momento de ingerir alimentos (fríos y calientes, los cuales desaparecen al retirar el estímulo). Se realiza recubrimiento pulpar indirecto con TheraBase, seguido de un protocolo de adhesión y restauración con resina compuesta de manera inmediata. Se logra seguimiento de 1 año.
