Vital pulp therapy in a young permanent molar with TheraBase. Case report

Pigmented Vital pulp therapy (VTP) is a strategy aimed at maintaining the total or partial vitality of the pulp. Regarding indirect pulp capping, the selective removal of carious tissue and its subsequent capping of the affected tissue are considered TPV. Among the considerations to be considered for carrying out this type of treatment are the clinical examination findings, sensitivity tests, radiographic evaluation (periapical, interproximal) and selection material to be used depending on the case, whose main consideration is to induce bioactivity. in the affected tissue. This case report evaluates the management of deep caries in a young permanent tooth; 11-year-old female patient who attended the dental office presenting pain in the upper right posterior area spontaneously when eating food (hot and cold, which disappear when the stimulus is removed). Indirect pulp capping is performed with TheraBase, followed by an immediate bonding and composite restoration protocol. Follow-up of 1 year is achieved.
