Abstract

Techniques for Intentional Replantation have varied over the years with the introduction of endodontic microsurgery techniques. Despite recent advances in the technique, the variability in the success rate reported in previous studies and the absence of universally accepted clinical parameters, marked it as a treatment of last choice. However, more recent studies show an increase in success rates and therefore it can now be considered a common  treatment modality. The aim of this review was to review current techniques and to show the results and survival rates of Intentional Replantation. This research is a bibliographic review of the scientific publications in English found in electronic database Pubmed. A total of 22 articles published between 1966 and 2022 were included. A success rate of between 82.8-93% has been evidenced if the biological and technical principles of current endodontic microsurgery are implemented, which is greater than the success obtained with the use of traditional surgical techniques. Intentional Replantation can be considered a fast, predictable and highly reliable surgical treatment with an efficient cost-benefit ratio.
